Eveyone should know all this stuff already, but for the newbies, read the whole page, for contraptionists read the new parts below.
Camp Letters for 2007 - All Camp mates should read these letters From campmates and the Burningman Theme Camp crew. New ones posted when they arrive. Check back often, one posted so far. Last years are still posted on last years page and the new ones won't chance much from them.
Everyone should have joined jackrabbit speaks news letter at Burningman.com and our Yahoo group message board site for camp mates Only.
We have submited the Theme camp registration, that happened around May 30 this year, but send me any ideas you have and any pictures or pages for the web site you want posted.
The Theme camp information from burningman is here and it would be good to read if you haven't already.
Everyone should also read the burningman site concerning theme camps and villages and the trash, ( 7 bags in my trailer and about 8 taken by other campmates) and sump water
they can have.
(4 5 gal bottles) and gray water problems (barely kept up with it and pulled out a
third plastic pond to dry out the last inch before leaving).
Do not throw Kitchen waste water (sump) on the playa or in the shower ponds, this must be hauled
back out to treatment plants.
Even though we will not be cooking as a group you should read the kitchen section also
This is a leave no trace event and we should each figure on taking out about twice the trash than we brought in as packages etc., so Please leave space in your car for an inflated trash bag so you will still have room for it when it has been inflated with trash at the weeks end.
We are up in our numbers and we're going to need a guide to our camp mates since we have so many in our group now. please send me a picture and " bio" if you want to be in the camp mates guide.
This is a Leave No Trace Event and carpet fibers are not natural and will stay on the playa for thousands of years.

New Stuff
We had a run on the shower when first set up and went through Brians whole weeks worth of water in the first few hours. this was corrected and we managed to last the week.
We'll need Brians blessing with this, But
Karl and I have been working on a
device
, call it a Contraption, that will allow
people to add their
water to the shower as needed and be able to drain only the amount
they added while replacing and using what has been warming in solar water heating tubing.
We also need a better way of evaporating the old water so we don't need to bucket it to the front pond or set up a third pond like we did Monday after everyone left.
and with everyone using the back shower we may not need all three showers set up again.
Please let your thoughts on this be known.
_:_
Set up , Break down;
Karl and Zap were our first there, finding our spot and laying out the grid. We were limited on the number we could get in before Saturday, but still had plenty to do
after then , and we could have used more on the other end packing up and staying for breakdown too.
My feelings is that newbies are guests and not required to help more than they wish to, since they are already over whelmed by simply being there, but there has been a
suggestion that we require more from the campers, whether in the form of
helping with one of the three concessions we have, or Twister, or in my mind
doing an art piece or progect for the camp or community, including volenteering as a number of our group do.
We have basicaly doubled in size each of the past few years and this is a troubleing trend since half the group is un familure with what is required to run the camp and the
effort put into it by a number of key members, not just myself, and have no clue what they could or should be doing to help.
I don't want to suggest closing the doors, but we should work out a method of mentoring the newbies by their sponcers, and possibly a camp "Hand Book" or such letting them
know the concerns and needs of our camp.
I try to have information here for them, but I'm not always sure they get it, or that they are getting the emails beiong sent out.
So, If as King I may make a decree.
All Camp Members must join our email list and yahoo group or camp elsewhere!
if you have a problem with this please let me know why.

There is also a suggestion of "Taxes".
I see this two ways;
One, it could be usefull and an asset for the camp
as a whole if used for things such as our own potty, or to maintain common items. little things like paper towels, cups , utensils could be aquired with the funds, or even
group projects funded.
Two, Most Kings were beheaded because of taxes and dictating the use of them, and is going to make some people mad at
said King. And the committee method of decision won't be much better since we all have our pet projects and needs.
I would like more solar power and maybe some
blinking cups or coasters with our logo for the Bar, or maybe some other blinky thing or gift fitting the whole camp.
I don't mind the trip to the lue so much and
would make lots of friends trying to place a potty in camp.
We have plenty of structures , but could also use a large shade area for smaller tents.
I also have a concern about the RVs taking over, we only had a few this year, but the generators did cause problems and we need a way of mittagating them , which may mean a
camp power station to prevent the need of individual generators recharging batteries.
this is another sticky spot and I would assume the camp gennerator would be next to the camp potty which is going next to my tent since no one else wants it ...
well actually I think we could arrange it to be in a common structure area of the camp, but we haven't started the map yet.
There has also been raised concern about keeping the snowcones away from the kitty trim. No , we haven't found fur in the ice , but the twister and kitty are adult areas
and the snowcones and smoothies draw all ages.
so I will be looking into a new configuration of the camp for next year that will allow those two attractions to be in a more private venue while drawing komona's over
where the kitty trim was.
I think it will work well since kitty and doggy were booked and by appointment only and didn't really need sign frontage this year. this will also work with having no
shower out front.
let me know any other ideas or concerns you have!
See ya before ya know it
Still Your Humble KING
