Below is a letter from Bman on theme camps.
I will try to forward them to camp mates via E-mail,
but will also try to post them here as they come.

1. Many camps do not have their maps and cleanup plans in. This
means we cannot map you. If you want to try and get something into
us you will have until this Wednesday. After this time we will not
accept anything.
2. If it is apparent that you are not really doing anything
interactive (an obvious sign would be that nothing is written
describing what your interactive element is), we will not map you.
These requirements have been clearly communicated a number of times.
I am sending along the web page with this information again:
http://www.burningman.com/themecamps_installations/themecamps/bm04_theme_criteria.html
We will notify you shortly if you have not met our criteria and are
not going to be mapped.
3. Some people have sent us their Mutant vehicle information. Any
Mutant Vehicles must be registered with the DMV, not us. Please
check them out on the web site:

4. There still are a bunch of camps out there that appear to be
giving away food to the public that have not gotten in touch with the
Health Department for a permit. This is ultimately your decision but
by advertising and mapping you are calling attention to yourself and
may well be visited by the health department. FYI!
5. A few camps have mentioned that they are going to put out garbage
cans to help with cleanup. This is not a very good idea. Garbage
cans beget garbage and one can will quickly overflow and turn into an
pile. We recommend you resist the temptation of providing
receptacles. Stick with a pack it in and pack it out mentality and
make people be accountable for themselves.
6. Some people have mentioned they are bringing their dogs. As of
last year, by popular demand, dogs are not allowed. Sorry! I
pointed you all toward the theme camp resource guide already. Please
look it over for some easy advice on this and other topics:

7. Are you burning your art? If so, how are you planing to clean it
up? Please be prepared to Leave No Trace! Even using the public burn
pyre requires removal of your ashes so they do not overflow on to the
playa. Thanks for Leaving No Trace!
8. Some folks are still planning on having large sound systems in
their camps located within the city. We cannot place you there if
you have any desire to be loud. This is not our rule; this is the

desire of the community at large. Be respectful of your neighbors.
Please read our sound requirements listed under "Sound" on the
